I can't believe how fast this year has gone!
I have achieved another of my goals this year and I am so proud of myself.
December is here again, long cold nights in, writing lots of Christmas cards to new friends and of course family.
Who have you met in the last year that has inspired you to improve or achieve what you want? Are you still in contact with them?
"Wise sayings often fall on barren ground, but a kind word is never thrown away." Sir Arthur Helps
Happiness is.....
What does happiness mean to you? Everyone has a different meaning for happiness, and for me it's being happy with my self and my body image, having income to allow myself to be independent, and being happy in a relationship.
Happiness can mean anything from your environment around you, to the whole world. Happiness is an emotional or affective state that is characterized by feelings of enjoyment and satisfaction. Happiness is emotionally experienced when in a state of well-being. Humans are diverse in their personalities, abilities, beliefs, preferences and values.
How do you feel and see yourself when you are happy? What do you do when you are happy? Happiness is a journey, not a destination. Happiness is a state of mind, no more, no less and contentment is the crux of a happy life. Once you are content then happiness automatically follows.
According to Professor Martin Seligman of Pennsylvania University there appears to be two different forms of happiness that people aim to achieve: a pleasant life and a good life. But, only a meaningful life can give real long lasting happiness. Happiness is also correlated with achieving goals, adds Boniwell, but it's important that the goals are meaningful - something you really believe in.
"Happiness cannot be travelled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude." Denis Waitley.
Happiness - Goal setting
With it being December, think about the year that has just flown by and what made you happy? It could be absolutely anything, having a baby, buying a house, passing your driving test. What made you smile? Something someone said to you, or a comedian you went to see, or your favorite band? And also, what are you most proud of achieving: passing your exams, completing your thesis, or gaining your self confidence in going out on your own.
You have achieved all of this in 2007, so what are your goals for 2008? They can be little one's which can be built upon, or big one's that can make you stronger as a person.
Think about what you will achieve in the next 12 months, and let's go on the journey together, and reach for the world, as the world is your oyster!
Let me help you set more achievable, measurable goals for the future, with my help you will achieve so much more, as I will be there to support you through the tough times and celebrate the fantastic times!!
Have a fantastic Christmas, and Happy New Year to you all!!
"Strong reasons make strong actions." William Shakespeare
