Greetings!
It's Summer time again, when all of the flowers are out, the children are playing outside - but no - the dreaded british summer has begun - rain at Wimbledon, floods in Yorkshire, at least its not freezing, and where's the sun I hear you ask - good question !!
What have we to look forward to - the sun coming out, to brighten our days, and those long summer holidays for the children - and us adults we look forward to sitting out in the sun with a lovely chilled glass of wine or beer!!
Tell me what your looking forward to this summer........

Managing change
Why it's important to effectively manage change?
"It is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones who are most responsive to change" - Charles Darwin
Change is usually a good thing because a change in attitude or plan, to become different or undergo alteration, to go from one phase to another, to the next phase of your life can lead to a happier, more content, more balanced and fulfilling life.
Managing change depends on how quick you want change to happen. In a corporate world, there are processes to go through to make a change, but personally you can make a change very quickly, if it's been thought out thoroughly.
There must be pressure for change - a driving force. Here are 4 tips to help you apply change to your life: Awareness > Interest > Desire > Action
Awareness - When making a change in your personal life, you will be made aware of "something needs to change" for the change to happen. You must think about it first. It could be your career, family life, or environment. What are you putting up with now that has made you think of changing?
Interest - What has interested you enough to make you want to change?
Desire - What's driving you to change? What resources do you need to support you in this? What results do you want? What timescale are you looking at?
Action - What will you do in the next 24 hours to make this change happen for a positive new environment or happy family balance in your life?
I believe change is a good thing, as I have learnt many different skills in the past few years that I wouldn't have thought of. I wouldn't have started my own business for a start, and gained in confidence by building my business, and personally my confidence is blooming, as one of my clients recently said.
Why do people respond negatively to change?
It can be for various reasons. Change can be very unsettling and in the short-term it can mean loss, discontinuity, and the destruction of a familiar and "safe" way of life. A lack of understanding, a lack of trust and fear of the outcome are some of the key reasons that lead people to reject change.
You and Change
How many things have changed in your life in the past 5 years? Are they positive?
Think back to 5 years ago, what was in your life then? Picture it - what can you feel, smell, and see? How does it feel?
What's in your life now? Picture it, feel it, smell it. What's changed for you - your circumstances, your surroundings? If you're not entirely happy with your picture make a change, only a small one - how does that feel? Some questions for you to answer to see if you are perceptible for change.
- What or where are you now?
- What or where would you like to be?
- What would happen if I did change?
- What would not happen if I did change?
- What would happen if I didn't change?
- What would not happen if I didn't change?

We can do this by looking at, and challenging, your limiting beliefs.
