Dear Mari,

Hello again, Its March already, time for a spring clean. Read my article below on tips to spring clean your house and life! In Wales , it is St.Davids Day on the 1st of March, so we like to celebrate with singing welsh songs, plenty of daffodils and leeks!!

Also in March its St. Patricks day on the 17th and our Irish friends love to celebrate, drinking lots of Guinness and singing irish songs loudly in a local pub!

The most important day of all in March of course is......Mother's Day on the 18th to celebrate all of the great things that our mothers do for us.

Thanks mum!

You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover will be yourself. - Alan Alda

Spring clean your life!
What's holding you back!

Its spring time and new life is beginning again outside - there are lambs being born, daffodils growing from the ground, the lawn will be cut for the first time, so what about you and your life! Give your life a well deserving spring clean, clear out the cobwebs, and make room for the new and move forward in your life right now!!

Now is the time to look at this season in your own way and use the warmer, brighter weather to de-clutter your life in every sense of the word; emotionally, physically, and environmentally. According to Feng Shui experts, clutter "blocks the flow of positive energy around our homes".

Top tips for your environment:

  • Collect everything that you haven't used in the past 12 months, i.e. the stuff that you have accumulated, bag it and get rid of or recycle it.
  • What have you got that is broken and needs fixing? If it hasn't moved or been used for a few months then get rid of it. If you've lived without something that long, you probably don't need it.
  • What are you holding on to for sentimental reasons? Will it benefit you in the future to hold onto these things?
  • Get rid of your emotional baggage, career or financial worries and fears - all of these are holding you back.
  • Train yourself to finish what you start. Does it feel good to have loads of things hanging around half done that you should have finished? Don't let things build up.
  • Clean your soft furnishings, e.g. curtains, rugs, carpets and floors. You can do this with the warm long days ahead. It will also burn some calories, and your place will look great!

The benefits of having a spring clean of your everyday environment are that you will be back in control of your surroundings and everyday behaviour. Invest in yourself and your progress - there is no wiser investment.

Focus on the present moment. When you live in the past too much you stop living now - live in the now, plan for the future, and learn from the past.

The next time you feel negative towards something, STOP, and purposely find something positive about the issue and focus on that. You can almost always see another side of things. It just depends where your bias is.

Change - Make it happen
& Why you don't!

Change can be a scary thing. Most people don't like change - that's why they stay in the same dull boring job for years, and are unhappy about their own life. They make excuses for not changing, that it will unsettle the status quo in respect of their family / work life balance.

But if you do want change to happen, you have to make it happen. How I hear you ask? Well, set yourself a goal of what you want. Research the ways of achieving the goal. There could be a few possibilities of achieving your goal. Choose which option is more realistic to you.

Ask yourself these questions to help you make the decision to change :

  • What would happen if you did make the change?
  • What would happen if you didn't make the change?
  • What wouldn't happen if you did make the change?
  • What wouldn't happen if you didn't make the change?

Think carefully about your answers. The more certain you are of what you want to change, the likelihood is that you will take the action to change and achieve your goal.

Look forward to the clocks changing when light will be here amongst us, and we can go out to the garden and plant new life into it.
